Prof Callanan will explain that 2019 will not only see a solar eclipse but is the centenary of an important date in science – the 1919 eclipse that proved Einstein’s theory of relativity. Or did it? From the start the result was controversial. Hear the fascinating history of the expedition to measure the eclipse and the connection to a renowned Irish telescope maker.
