Organized by Department of Aviation and Space Medicine University Szeged (Hungary) and Aeromedical Institute of Military Medical Center together with Faculty of Technics at Neumann University in Kecskemét city a public meeting will be held on 21st of November, 2018, where the students (and prospective students) can meet the only Hungarian astronaut Brig. Gen. Bertalan Farkas, who volunteered to become a cosmonaut in 1978 as part of the international programme for Intercosmos. Farkas, along with Soviet cosmonaut Valeri Kubasov, was launched into space on Soyuz 36, from Baikonur Cosmodrom on May 26, 1980, at 18:20 (UTC). While in orbit, Farkas conducted experiments in material science, used the Hungarian psychocalculator Balaton and tested the Pille dosimeter. After 7 days, 20 hours and 45 minutes, and having completed 124 orbits, Farkas and Kubasov returned to Earth, landing in Kazakhstan.
In the frame of OPEN DAY at Neumann University at 14:00 , 21st of November, 2018 the students can chat and ask the cosmonaut about the facts and personal feelings regarding the human life in space.
